The 70s inspired design of the Hôtel Everland

I absolutely fell in love with this art project of Sabina Lang et Daniel Baumann. Mainly because of the 70s design of course but also the idea of having an amazing view to complement it in differnet locations.
The Hôtel Everland was created for the national exhibition "Everland" in Switzerland, then traveled to Yverdon, Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst in Leipzig and finally on the rooftop of the Palais de Tokyo in Paris.

Every detail was carefully thought of by the artists, people were allowed to visit the hotel during the day and when the sun went down the hotel was entirely to the couple that booked a night in this time capsule.
A record player is waiting to be used and a breakfast is served in the morning. I can easily imagine eating my croissants and sipping my tea watching the sun go up behind the Eiffel tower, what a beautiful view it must be.

Unfortunately the Hôtel Everland has no intention to travel around but a book is available, I might get myself one as an inspiration for a future interior design of my own.

The Cockettes! Delirious!

Yesterday I watched this crazy documentary with my friend Trixie,'The Cockettes'!
The founder of The Cockettes, Hibiscus, is wiiild, a total hippie Jesus with loads of glitter in his beard, constantly on acid, wanting to just dress up and create scenarios taken from his beautiful scrapbook, creating his own reality, beautiful.

This is 'The New Yorker''s review :
A flamboyant piece of hippie history gets its due in Bill Weber and David Weissman's loving look at the San Francisco drugs-and-drag theatre troupe. The filmmakers capture the spirit of life in a late-sixties commune as well as the Cockettes' hallucinogenic romps-performances foisted on audiences who were in the mood for wigged-out frivolity. With its archival footage and hilariously frank interviews, the movie makes for a ragtag portrait of a cultural moment when free expression reigned supreme. -Bruce Diones

My dream, Pierre Cardin's Bubble House

Architect Antti Lovag's "Bubble House" was built in the 70's for fashion designer, Pierre Cardin.
This dream house has a living space of 1200m², an outdoor auditorium for 500 people, a reception seating 350 persons, a living room with a panoramic view and 10 suits.
Maybe that would be too big for me.
And let's not forget the 8500m² garden.

What is interesting here is that Antti was inspired by the way caveman lived, round shapes remind us of the actual caves, for him it was going back to something more "earthy", back to our sources, while it ended up being the most futuristic house I've ever seen. Antti created other magical places like the "Maison Helene et Christian Roux",
